ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The Swiss online store umdenker sells sustainable products and, in blog posts, inspires people to reflect critically on their habits of consumption. With great humor, the store’s founder writes about her ambition to lead a sustainable lifestyle. Pixel Saloon created the branding from scratch and, as a result of the process, presented the client with a set of tools for corporate communication, which she now uses independently.

The branding was created primarily for the online environment. In addition to designing the look and feel of both the online shop and social media channels, digital ad formats were developed. A compact version of the logo serves as the store’s profile picture on Facebook and Instagram.
Distinctive icons were created for important topics. Long-term, they should evolve beyond their online communication function, into brand trademarks.

The company’s aim is to encourage critical thinking about one’s own consumer behaviour. So, umdenker’s look should not invoke the stereotypes common to green, or eco-friendly, online stores. The company’s branding should stand out from the crowd of competitors as robust, revolutionary and challenging.
We cooperated closely with the client to build a brand communication strategy that directly expresses the company’s DNA. Precisely because sustainability has already been visualized, and interpreted, in so many ways, we strove to give umdenker a unique face.
